Before I owned a big girl camera, I didn't really pay attention to the littlest details that surround me every day. I have a deeper appreciation for all the beauty that God has prepared for me and for the small, gorgeous details that make up the people I love the most.
When I look through my lens, a whole new world opens up to me. I see most everything differently than I ever did before, especially the light. The light and how it affects a photograph and how you feel when you see it. This year, I'm really striving to learn more about how to work with the light and find the best light. Since I live in a cold, northern state, I have been stuck inside a lot lately. The skies had been cold, dreary and grey until one morning this week. I went on a scavenger hunt through my house, hunting down the best light. Determined to capture just a bit of its glory. The striped tights were an added bonus.

Very cool light - and even cooler tights. :)
You found some great light, friend! I love that second shot with her colorful tights in the background. I think there are a few of us who are working on finding the light this year. :) I can't wait to see all the pretty light you find, Amanda.
I really adore these photos, esp that last one with her whisp of feet dancing out of the photo. And love the light patches too.
These are an inspiration - I always complain the light inside my house is awful, but I just need to find it!
Sweet and lovely, Amanda. Really love that second one, too. You captured the light along with "childhood" beautifully.
Capturing the best light is crucial and the most fun with the "big girl" camera. These are wonderful captures.
